Privacy & data protection

EduPlace SA stores children's personal information, so we build privacy and security in by default.

Why we collect data

We collect learner, parent and guardian information only to process school applications, manage admissions, track learner progress, support learners and produce anonymised planning reports. Demographic, nationality and family-structure data is used for statistics and equity reporting only — never to unfairly accept, reject or disadvantage any learner.

Consent

We capture explicit consent before collecting sensitive data such as race, disability, medical information, identification documents and learner profile pictures. You can withdraw consent or request corrections at any time from your dashboard.

Security

Documents, identification records and profile pictures are encrypted and stored securely. Access is strictly role-based: no parent can view another family's child, and learner records are never publicly exposed.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and lodge a complaint. Every action on learner data is recorded in an audit log.
